Admissions Requirements

One new class is selected to enter the radiography program each fall. The program has limited space available due to the low student-to-faculty ratios required in the clinical setting by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Complete the free admissions process found at lccc.wy.edu/admissions Applicants need to be considered 怡春院视频 students prior to applying to the Radiography Program. They do not need to be currently enrolled in coursework through 怡春院视频.

If you are a current student or have taken courses at 怡春院视频 within the last year, you do not need to reapply to 怡春院视频.

Students interested in applying must satisfy the following minimum criteria by Mar. 1 of the year they desire to enter the program:

All Pass or Satisfactory grades earned in Spring 2020 (using a Pass/Fail or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory grade scale) will still be considered for admission to the program. Each course affected will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and will still be subject to Laramie County Community College's Transfer Grade policies. If you have questions, please contact the Program Director or Advisor for the program.

For any prerequisite or additional courses that are in progress at the time of application, you must have your instructor complete the following online form. Copy this link, and email it to your instructor:
The instructor will need to complete and submit the form before your application is considered complete.

  1. Prior to performing any observations, read and sign the .

  2. Make an appointment to complete an 8-hour observation in a hospital radiology department and/or imaging clinic. It is recommended that at least 4 hours of this requirement be completed in a hospital setting, if possible. No more than 4 hours may be done in an orthopedic radiology department. Refer to the Application Checklist to ensure you have completed all required steps.

Students are selected based on the completeness of the application, cumulative GPA of prior college coursework, satisfaction of minimum entrance criteria, observation evaluation, references, degree of program preparedness and date of receipt of application.

Upon receipt of conditional acceptance, proof of the following additional requirements must be submitted to the radiography program by the dates stipulated in the acceptance letter:

  • A completed physical examination form including verification of current vaccinations and titers (Example: Hepatitis B, Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, Tuberculosis, Diphtheria-Tetanus, Varicella, Influenza*,
    COVID-19*).

    Influenza Vaccination
Students are advised that the current influenza vaccination (typically available starting in September) is a requirement each Fall semester, as mandated by various clinical sites. Program due date is the third Friday in October.

    COVID-19 Vaccination (see policy below)
HSW COVID-19 Immunization Statement: Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and for the safety of healthcare students and employees, many medical facilities, along with federal policies, are mandating the

COVID-19 vaccination, with limited exemptions available for students and employees. Because all clinical hours and/or clinical competencies must be completed to meet program requirements, this means students may be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved exemption on file to enter and/or progress in the Radiography Program. For additional information, regarding these requirements, please see the Health Sciences & Wellness COVID-19 Policy.

The major 怡春院视频 Radiography Program recognized clinical sites are requiring the vaccination, therefore current clinical placement is very limited for non-vaccinated students. These clinical experiences are necessary to meet the objectives of the program and meet American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credentialing requirements (required by most states to be eligible to gain employment in the field). Therefore, the COVID-19 vaccination is included as one of the clinical clearance requirements for the program. Please reach out to the Program Director with specific concerns or questions regarding this matter.

  • A copy of current certification from the American Heart Association in 鈥淐PR for the Health Care Worker鈥 when classes begin in the Fall. CPR certification must be valid for the duration of the program.

  • Acceptable Drug Screening and Criminal Background Checks All allied health students are required to submit a pre-clinical urine drug screen according to the policy of the Allied Health Programs at 怡春院视频.

The drug screen is completed at the student鈥檚 expense and must be paid for at the time of application via the CastleBranch (or another 怡春院视频 contracted vendor) website. Failure to complete the drug screening and criminal background check prior to the beginning of the Fall I semester may result in dismissal from the program.

At their discretion, clinical sites may also require a drug screening and/or a criminal background check prior to allowing students into the clinical setting. If required, any associated fees will be the responsibility of the student. In addition, 怡春院视频 and the clinical sites may require random drug testing and/or drug testing for reasonable cause. Generally, the urine drug test screens for alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or drugs that impair judgment while in the clinical setting. Testing positive on the screening, or evidence of tampering with a specimen, will disqualify a student from participation from the clinical assignment.

In addition to drug screening, for the safety of patients and health care workers, allied health students must also undergo a background check performed by CastleBranch or similar vendor at the student鈥檚 expense. Your acceptance into an allied health program at 怡春院视频 will not be final until 怡春院视频 has received background check information from the reporting agencies, and the background check is clear of disqualifying offenses. For more information, please see the complete Health Sciences and Wellness
Division Policies for Allied Health Students posted on the Division website. Certain criminal activities, as evidenced by a criminal background check may also disqualify a student from clinical participation. Students are advised that the inability to gain clinical education experiences can result in the inability to meet program objectives and outcomes. These circumstances may prevent final acceptance into and/or progression through the program, and ultimately result in dismissal from the program.

In keeping with the program鈥檚 due process policies, if a student disagrees with the accuracy of the information obtained, s/he may request a confirmatory test and/or a review of the accuracy of the background information within seven (7) working days. All requests must be made in writing to the Dean, Health Sciences & Wellness, and must include relevant information and/or extenuating circumstances supporting the request. A designated committee will review the results and the request, and will be responsible for making the final decision regarding the student鈥檚 request. The student will be notified in writing of the committee鈥檚 decision within seven (7) working days. For further information please refer to the Health Sciences & Wellness Handbook available under resources on the 怡春院视频 Radiography website.

Note: Certificate Eligibility

Because the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) can deny certification, applicants with any of the listed violations below should complete an Ethics Pre-Application Review (available at prior to enrollment in the program, or more than six months prior to program completion. These violations include:

Criminal proceedings including:

  • misdemeanor charges and convictions
  • felony charges and convictions

Disciplinary actions taken by a state or federal regulatory authority or certification board; and/or Honor code violations. The Wyoming Board of Radiologic Technologists Examiners (WBRTE) can also deny licensure if the board feels that such denial is in the public鈥檚 interest.
