The Cultural and Community Enrichment Series at 怡春院视频 offers exciting opportunities for both students and the general public to experience and learn from artists, authors, business leaders, historians, philosophers, musicians, scientists, photographers, poets and other experts from around the world. These annual events are donor-funded and open to the public.

Nikki Villagomez is a nationally recognized speaker on typography. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University with a BFA in Graphic Design. After working as a designer in New York City, she moved to her home state of South Carolina where she became a full time freelancer. Nikki is the founder and former president of the South Carolina chapter of AIGA. She has been an educator teaching Graphic Design and Typography at the University of South Carolina and the University of Akron. Currently, Nikki lives in Charlotte, NC and serves as Chief Marketing Officer for BRC, a CPA and advisory firm based in Greensboro, NC. She has maintained her blog, culture+typography, since 2012.

The Second City is a renowned improvisational comedy enterprise, known for its influential and prolific comedy theaters in Chicago, Toronto, and New York City. Founded in 1959, it has been a starting point for many famous comedians and actors, including Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Bill Murray.

Join us for a night of music and laughs as The Second City bring their talents to the stage in Cheyenne. FREE performance. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Negative Painting with Watercolor
Workshop Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. - Noon

The artist reception will be held at 6 p.m.. June 5, in the Surbrugg/Prentice Auditorium Lobby/ Esther and John Clay Fine Arts Gallery.

Artist and author of two books, Keeping a Watercolor Sketchbook and Steps to Success in Watercolor. An active participant in the arts community she is 1st Vice-President of the California Art Club and has served on the board of directors for the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West. She鈥檚 a Signature Artist in WW-M, NWWS, SDWS and CWA. Her artwork has been featured in several volumes of Splash: Best of Watercolor, An Illustrated Journey, Creative Freedom, Complete Guide to Watercolor, Watercolor Artist, Watercolor Magazine, Watercolor Highlights, Plein Air Magazine and numerous other publications. She participates as an arts juror and demonstrator, and offers workshops both nationally and abroad.

Workshop Description: Discover the exciting results of negative painting with watercolor! 

Learn the technique of painting around a subject (the negative space) to define it in the composition. Build your confidence in handling glazes, wet into wet, under-paintings and painting into wet passages. Strengthen your understanding of pigments and how they directly relate to the complex medium of watercolor. During the workshop you鈥檒l learn how to create interesting shapes and depth of color with transparent glazes. Strengthen a painting with overlapping, interlocking shapes and linkage. Students will benefit from daily demonstrations, friendly critiques, and one on one help.
