Patients should plan on a two to three hour long appointment when they schedule their appointment. This is a teaching institution and services require more time than in a private dental office. In some cases, patients will need multiple appointments and may see more than one practitioner. If you have not had your teeth cleaned recently, you should plan on several appointments.
All adult patients new to the clinic are required to come to a short screening appointment at no charge, prior to the first scheduled appointment for dental hygiene services.
Patients needing follow-up services requiring dental fillings, extractions, or other treatment will be given a Report of Findings for the patient's family dentist or dentist of choice to assess.
Dental Hygiene Clinic Cancellation Policy
The clinic has a 24 hour cancellation policy. Please call 307.778.1141 if you are unable to keep your appointment.
After three cancelled appointments within less than 24 hours’ notice or two failed (no show) appointments the patient will be dismissed from the college’s clinic.

Multiple appointments may be necessary to complete a patient’s treatment and referrals to other providers may also be recommended to meet a patient’s specific treatment needs. Appointments generally last two to three hours as instructors frequently check students' work.

Patient Forms
The security of the patient’s personal data is one of the clinic’s primary concerns and it has taken precautions to protect it.
Patient forms are for new patients or returning patients not seen in the clinic for two or more years. Patients with certain medical or dental conditions may need a physician clearance before undergoing dental hygiene treatment in the clinic. A thorough medical history review is for your protection. Patients will need to complete their new patient health history prior to their appointment and read through the Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities, Informed Consent and Release of Information forms. Patients will be asked to review and sign these documents at their first appointment.

"The commission is interested in the continued improvement and sustained quality of dental and dental related education programs but does not intervene on behalf of individuals or act as a court of appeal for treatment received by patients or individuals in matters of admission, appointment, promotion or dismissal of faculty, staff or students," the Commission on Dental Accreditation's website indicated.
"In accord with its responsibilities to determine compliance with accreditation standards, policies, and procedures, the Commission does not intervene in complaints as a mediator but maintains, at all times, an investigative role. This investigative approach to complaints does not require that the complainant be identified to the program. The Commission, upon request, will take every reasonable precaution to prevent the identity of the complainant from being revealed to the program; however, the Commission cannot guarantee the confidentiality of the complainant," the website indicated.
"The Commission strongly encourages attempts at informal or formal resolution through the program's or sponsoring institution's internal processes prior to initiating a formal complaint with the Commission," the website indicated.
"The Commission will consider only formal, written, signed complaints; unsigned complaints will be considered "anonymous complaints" and addressed as set forth above; oral complaints will not be considered. Students, faculty, constituent dental societies, state boards of dentistry, patients, and other interested parties may submit an appropriate, signed, formal complaint to the Commission on Dental Accreditation regarding any Commission accredited dental, allied dental or advanced dental education program, or a program that has an application for initial accreditation pending. An appropriate complaint is one that directly addresses a program's compliance with the Commission's standards, policies and procedures," the website indicated.
