Electrical Technology Program

What will I learn?

The Electrical Technology program provides initial training to students on how to work on electrical circuits and systems. Students will learn to read technical diagrams; install and maintain wiring, control and lighting systems; inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers; identify electrical problems; repair or replace wiring, equipment or fixtures; and follow state and local building regulations.

The students in this program will be part of a cohort, remaining with same peers throughout the program. Students may participate in national competitions such as Skills USA.

This program provides a route into an electrical apprenticeship.

 

Credit Diploma

The Electrical Technology program prepares students to construct, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits and systems. Basic knowledge, fundamental skills and industry standards will be emphasized as students learn to work in the field of electrical technology.

In the first semester of this program, students will earn the Foundations of Skilled Trades credit diploma

Students in this program must start in the fall semester.

Available at the Cheyenne main campus.

What can I do with this degree?

This program provides a route into an electrical apprenticeship with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers or independent electrical contractors.
